The not so good, bad and ugly page.

This is my second attempt at coloring by hand with Ecoline. A sort of liquid watercolor..I must say that I'm not too ashamed of this page, it sure beats the crap out of my first attempt at coloring. That first page is now buried deep into the "do not open under any circumstance" folder of shame, and it shall never again see the light of day...or night..yeah.
There are plenty of mistakes that I made, but its all part of the learning process. What's worse tho, is the fact that after the scan it looks washed out..less vibrant. I tried a couple of adjustment layers in PS but nothing brought it back to its former glory (you'll just have to take my word for it)
Anyhow, thanks for stopping by, and, y'all come back now, y'hear?

All's well that ends...in a jungle temple...

So this wraps up the 4 pages of Shanna: The She Devil. This page was entirely my own and I have to say that there are a few things that I am quite pleased with (tho there's plenty of room for improvement) and, of course, many mistakes that I have learned from. All in all, I am satisfied with having finished the project, it was a great learning experience. Hope you guys like it!

Inking damages my cool...

So here are 3 of the Shanna pages inked, plus the Songes-Coraline page, also inked. Obviously for manual color. Anyhow I have one more of the Shanna ones to go and then it's on to other things! As you can see, I made some small changes during the inking.
Enjoy!

CLAC is French for SLAP!

Hahaha, funny french SFX...Anyhow, this is another re-working of a comic page from Terry Dodson's French comic book: Songes - Coraline. I took the script of the page and tried to (mind you, tried to) stick to his style. I toned down the adult content but I think you still get the idea of the situation. The "CLAC" sfx struck me as being so funny I just had to include it on my version.
Hope you guys like it...

Take my hand if you want to live!

Ok so the quote isnt exactly right..so what?!? This is the only panel I inked as a test of the previous 4 pages..I like the overall look of it, but while inking it I noticed a lot of mistakes in my pencils...fixed what I could..anyhow, enjoy!

Removing the training wheels...

This excercise was a lot of fun..Start off with a copy of a 4 page action sequence and then slowly move away from the original story until you added a bit of your own. In this case I took a look at Marvel's Shanna the She Devil by Frank Cho and COPIED the first page you see below..Apologies to Cho. The second page is meant to have the same number of panels, same actions within each panel, but changing the camera angles (very difficult to do when you have something in front of you as incredible as what Cho did). Also the Layout could be changed. Page three was only supposed to retain the basic jist of the original page's plot (the T-rex presumably bites it) but could be changed any way we wanted to. And fnially page 4 was a free-for-all-do-whatever-you-want page, so long as it continued the story from the previous pages.

These scans show some mistakes that I have already corrected..for example the last panel on page 3, I fixed the bottom view of the mons pubis to be more..."girl-like"
Like I said, I had a lot of fun doing these so I hope you like them!
