The war had left the western European countries unable to sustain themselves on their depleted natural resources. With impenetrable Russia to one side and the Atlantic on the other, the New European Council passed the emergency Act of 2126. This Act allowed for all of western European nations to individually invade or occupy the African continent in an effort to obtain the necessary resources to rebuild.
Unable to sustain a prolonged naval campaign circling the Iberian Peninsula to reach Africa, England requested permission from the French Government to cross to the Mediterranean by land with the promise of a large percentage of their new colonies' wealth. French Prime Minister Riberrie opposed this idea fervently and was subsequently overruled and exiled by the French Parliament. While the French armed forces were occupied with securing land in Africa, the British troops of the supply train which ran from Northern France to the southwestern coast, became more and more brazen in their treatment of the locals. Towns were sacked and French citizens executed without trial for alleged crimes against the British troops. The French government turned a blind eye to these atrocities as it found itself without the man power to react, and because it feared that if the truce with England was broken, France would have easily fallen given that it was effectively already invaded.
However, in a small town of the province of Lorraine, after witnessing the death of her family at the hands of a small British patrol, a young French girl named Joan took up arms in self defense and fought back killing the English attackers. Fed up by the state of affairs and inspired by this young girl's courage the townsfolk joined their beloved La Pucelle in her campaign against the British supply train. Steadily gaining popularity and support from neighboring towns and provinces, Joan began her quest to drive out the British troops and to restore PM Riberrie to the head of the Parliament.

Photoshop - 1 day ;D

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 226px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk6u8xQJE8GTt09iDBmHDv1yByRSQFn0JZ0qavkkkExsK8EJEcs3YKW_pFEJzyZQmgPATN2Pb_TCuoSbMGG9bUWU8dj8QT5zqgOXwb7Ex8DIMWzKtNoXArX3SPvMvoffNsYhoz1cHyNys/s320/JoanOfArc1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329048500496198818" />TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-11597844542681077382009-03-29T13:24:00.000-07:002009-03-29T13:27:55.672-07:00Johnny boy...Just some more John Constantine character studies. They are unrelated to each other in that they are not both part of the same sequence. It's just a dialogue page and an Action page.
Im not entirely satisfied with them, but in my defense I drew them mostly sitting on my sister's couch with no real table to work on. 3 point perspective can be tricky even under better conditions. At any rate here they are. This time it is of the Chinese emperor's pet velociraptor, mistakenly believed to be a dragon, and named Jiao-Long. It was said that the emperor would consult Jiao-Long on matters concerning the state, and the "dragon's" response would come in the form of a bellowing cry. The key to determining it's meaning was closely related to the time of day at which Jiao-Long decided to sing. The hour of the dragon was the most auspicious time, the hour of the Rooster however, forbode bad tidings.
Seen here with one of "The Eight Dragon Masters", personal guards and handlers assigned by the emperor himslef, Jiao-Long wails to the valley below.

The image was done in Photoshop, start to finish. I only did grayscaling due to my other commitments having precedence time wise, but I think it came out nicely. Ill color it one day when I have the time.

Ask not for whom Jiao-Long sings....He sings for you.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 216px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqeY93jrq9tPbc5t54PzJwrV6FhITmW9gA9Eiz27fPYgsh4fWmbHq5K7OYTzhVZl_M_T8QPL5hOY8D6oJDzUKM5bsrNERRmq44DDYKY-_33GqFTMOSMYPNCCYcfjtDgU6YB_AjVNPq4u4/s320/JiaoLong-DragonMaster.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280383796083522130" />TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-75125651268028858992008-12-01T16:28:00.000-08:002008-12-01T16:40:22.544-08:00Goblin Big BossI saw this topic over at C.A. and couldn't resist having a go at it. It's supposed to be the big bad-guy from a goblin gun-slinger world...so I came up with this guy: armed with two 16-gauge automatic pistols that are belt-fed from twin 100-round drums mounted on a harness. The harness also has a back part which acts like a pistol magazine, but instead of single bullets it dispences fresh 100-round drums. When the Goblin Big Boss runs out of ammo from the current drums, he pulls them off, reaches back and grabs two more over his shoulders from the loader and clips them to the front of his harness feeding the belts into his guns to continue firing.
Here's the pic..I went analog on this cuz I knew if I started a digital painting it would have taken me a lot longer to do, and Im busy...very busy with other projects...but all work and no play makes Claudio a dull boy......ergo... :D
See y'all later.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 238px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt66DmIybqzr0SYw1IwayMiK9LQHgZ8cLUVhR6-CFuIedB5S7DhxDOifiYekHgT9vBWzWXSKGkWp7_g0qOG-87u90b4WF-DZIcdn3y7G4v10yxJWpdmiRQTR7ABnN8xZZwBvYqlyfoB2A/s320/Boss-Gobbo2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274985396741332114" />TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-12028242232292546452008-11-16T16:57:00.001-08:002008-11-16T17:24:39.890-08:00Here, take my card...So here it is, finally finished, my business card. The idea is from the DSG of the CA boards. It took me a bit of time to do this (in photoshop) but it's because I learned something with every "brush" stroke. I hope to get a few of these creatures together and open a new section of my art gallery.
Concept design is more about creativity than skill, but obviously those with high skill get the job done faster, and better :P I hope to improve both on speed and ability, but in the mean time all you get is this pic.
The idea is that this dragon evolved as a herbivorous creature. So I took away it's talons and gave him hooves, also he has no sharp teeth and has a soft set of lips with whcih to strip folliage from shrubbery and trees. His wings no longer help him fly, as everything he needs grows on the ground. his eyes are not set in the front as a predator's are, but rather far apart to keep an open eye on his surroundings. Blah blah blah...anyhow I hope you like it XD

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-19702902443276993882008-06-12T14:49:00.000-07:002008-06-12T15:09:17.995-07:00A little Dab of Color...Here's another attempt at coloring another one of my pages...I like desaturated colors..what can I say, and Im trying to make them work. What I love is the contrast between the atmospheric tones with the saturated and bright colors of the FX/SFX since it lets them pop out while maintaining some sort of chromatic coherence...ooooOOOOoooh fancy 25cent terminology XD
Owari!

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-6101084057752551382008-06-04T16:01:00.000-07:002008-06-07T08:44:31.663-07:00Girls with guns...So, I skipped ahead a bit in the story line to work on an action sequence...Didn't bother posting the pencils again, but I think you get the idea that usually I ink right over the lines i put down originally...So there shouldn't be much difference..Anyhow here it is..not much more to say...^_^

Update: Here's the colored version...didnt want to do a new post for every step of the process so here it is...Im happy with the result, tho it could always be better...enjoy! ^_^

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-5454096711121105442008-05-08T04:57:00.000-07:002008-05-08T05:04:48.432-07:002 More and Switch Gears...Two more pages from the story I am working on. I skipped putting the pencils online because it seemed pointless. About "switching gears", I am hoping to change the style of the comic so Im going to continue to work on the same story but trying a few new things..really I just want to spot balcks into it. In the meantime I may color a couple of these pages and post the results..thanks for visitng.
Ejoy ^_^

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-20216812027546848912008-05-03T10:54:00.000-07:002008-05-03T11:01:45.624-07:003 by 3 Inks...Here are the inked versions of the pages below..Soon I will post the next 3 penciled pages which are just sitting there on my desk..as far as these are concerned, Im not happy at all with how they came out..I went for a linea-chiara for digital color, but for right now, Im not too happy...lesson learned! hope you like them more than I do, and if not...well, join the club.

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-10218572621533610032008-04-21T13:14:00.000-07:002008-04-21T13:36:02.404-07:00The art of presentation...I hope. Here are some designs for my business card..I haven't put the text on them yet, but you get the idea. I drew them directly in Photoshop and had a grand olde time doing it...very simple, I know, but I trying to come up with a narrative image, this is what I got -_- ...might try a web comic in this style...nothing else to say, hope you like 'em.

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-2135681249114229082008-04-11T03:46:00.000-07:002008-04-11T03:53:42.240-07:00Skeletons in the...cyber-closet!Ok..so here are the first three pages of my current project. It's slow going as Im trying to work out a lot of issues regarding how much detail to include and omit. So far, I think Im not doing a very good job at discriminating, but life's a learning process. Now, I still have to make corrections on these pages, but Ill post the pencils as they are, and I will then post the inks with the corrections, then you all can see the difference...as if you care =_=... Ok, here goes...hope you like them.

TenGuKuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06571669077179012398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446597838636179987.post-49116216169389881702008-03-26T08:13:00.000-07:002008-03-26T08:20:37.656-07:00Chicken Legs...So over at Digital webbing they have these great contests to re-imagine current comic book characters....this week it's the Falcon's turn. No Way!!!That's right folks, Im uploading another image today. Nothing big, just a character study of the beastie-guy featured in the last panel of the previous page. wonky pose I know, he's supposed to be squat-sliding sideways after avoiding an explosion...yeah, I know...anyhow, colors were done with warm grey markers and then slightly re-touched in PS. hope you guys like it..Im out! Particularly searching for the right poses, tho I know they're not perfect, but for having done it without reference...Im pretty happy..Anyhow, to elaborate on the previous post, Im trying to improve my nature drawing, and that's where Cho's work has been the most help..well, hope you like it, if not.....Tough titty, said the kitty, but the milk's still good!
